Early Medical and Cancer Detection Project

Early Medical and Cancer Detection Project

Early medical and cancer detection is a critical area of research aimed at identifying diseases, especially cancer, at their earliest stages when they are most treatable. We focus on developing and improving methods to detect health issues before symptoms become severe, potentially saving lives and reducing treatment costs.

Shanthibhavan Palliative Hospital’s “Early Medical and Cancer Detection Project” was conceptualized upon witnessing the painful condition of bedridden terminally ill young patients and the pathetic plight of youngsters reaching our free dialysis centre. It was implemented in August 2023 at the Thrissur collectorate by the Hon. Collector of Thrissur with an aim to prevent or detect such grave diseases at a treatable stage thereby serving and saving our fellow beings and their families from the clutches of such deadly diseases. This project, which aims to create panchayats (local administrative units) free from dialysis and cancer. This initiative has been successfully implemented in Thrissur and Ernakulam. Our mobile health caravan offers free health check-ups, including: Ultrasound Scans, Blood Pressure Monitoring, Oxygen Level Checks, Pulse Rate Monitoring, Digital ECGs, Doctor Consultations, Dental Check-ups, Portable Digital Dental X-rays and Nonprofit Lab Tests. Early detection camps have identified cancer and thyroid-related diseases.
This project is being run by Shanthibhavan Good Samaritan Medical Centres at Aranattukara, Thrissur Sakthan Thamupran nagar, and Aluva, a non-profit initiative of Shanthibhavan, offer comprehensive care at no cost. This includes ultrasound scanning and non-profit lab tests to facilitate early medical and cancer detection.
